Harford Day School is the only Preschool through Eighth Grade School in Harford County accredited by the Association of Independent Maryland-DC Schools (AIMS), and member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). The Early Childhood, Extended Day and Summer Programs are further licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). We offer a range of schedule options, including extended day, and summer programs.
The Preschool enjoys a building of their own that was designed with young children in mind. A spacious common room is used for morning gathering, classes, special lunches, rest, and musical shows. Morning gatherings build a sense of community and celebrate citizenship and cultures around the world, and the school tradition of class plays begins in K-Prep. For recess, students have their own outdoor play area with equipment appropriate to their age and stage of development. Students have a minimum of two recesses daily and the common area accommodates vigorous indoor play during inclement weather.
Taking advantage of our entire 12 acre campus, enriched learning opportunities for Early Childhood students take them to specialized facilities and expert teachers for Spanish, physical education, art, music, introduction to media studies, and technology!
