Extended Day

About the Program

The after school Extended Day Program is available for all students from dismissal until 5:30 p.m. on regular school days and most early dismissal days throughout the school year. This service is guaranteed with a contract when completed by the annual August deadline. Drop-ins are permitted if space allows. Students are divided by age to allow for a developmentally appropriate program.

Little Dragons through K-Prep meets for afternoon Extended Day in the Early Childhood building and the corresponding age-appropriate playground. Snack (brought from home) and students engage in active, outdoor/indoor playtime and/or a craft or activity, indoors. Students are picked up from the Early Childhood Building.

Grades K-8 meet in the Middle School Building and begin their afternoon with a snack (brought from home). Students may play on the playground and fields (weather and staffing permitting), in the Fieldhouse, or study/read/play quiet games in the classrooms. All students are picked up from the Early Childhood Building.
A Harford Day School education is a gift meant to enrich the mind, body, and spirit of every student; its benefits realized not only while in elementary and middle school, but into high school, college, and life.
