Administrative Assistant
 
 
Harford Day School - an independent, co-ed, PreK-8 school located in Bel Air, Maryland (Harford County) - is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant beginning in June, 2024 to assist with multiple tasks essential to the operation of the School. The ideal candidate will be kind and welcoming as the first point of contact for current and prospective parents, alumni, and donors, and willing to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators and staff. Interest in leading extracurricular activities is a plus. Compensation is competitive and based upon experience. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in administrative position
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in: Google Docs, Sheets, Forms; Canva or similar design software
  • Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and/or Enrollment Management a plus+
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision

Job expectations include the following:
  • Assist with compilation of daily attendance
  • Answer phones
  • Convey parent messages to teachers and students  
  • Coordinate field trip and athletic bus requests
  • Receive and sort mail
  • Design and print grade play programs
  • Serve as School Picture coordinator 
  • Purchase supplies for work rooms
  • Update and send Monthly bulletin
  • Coordinate Faculty/Staff lunches
  • Update Faculty/Staff Birthday List
  • Serve as a member of the Awards/Graduation Committee
  • Coordinate school supply orders
  • Maintain student records
  • Print and file copies of report cards after each academic quarter ends
  • File ERB scores
  • Collect copies of review packets and exams from each teacher for the office files.
  • Serve as a member of the smARTs Week Committee
  • Assist with Morning and Afternoon Carline Duty
  • Receive and deliver catered student lunches daily
  • Coordinate and initiate Sign Up Genius for parent conference days
  • Assist Advancement and Admissions office with administrative tasks such as:
    • Create and print name badges for special events
    • Use Canva to create invitations, raffle and event flyers
    • Assist with mailings (printing, stuffing, posting), including mail merges, as needed
    • Occasional research and creation of spreadsheets using Google Sheets
    • Assist with Advancement and/or Admissions events as needed
